Plan an expansion around existing equipment

Decide what can stay and what needs a closer review.

Inventory what is there

Document the installed equipment and operating conditions before selecting replacement or additional components. Include handling rates, utility service, available space and equipment condition.

Test the connections

Review discharge elevations, receiving routes, reclaim, truck access and shutdown requirements. A new storage vessel may also require changes to filling, takeaway or electrical service.

Plan phases explicitly

Separate first-phase purchases from future buildout. Reserve expansion space, identify dependencies and request a complete scope for each phase. Do not assume an existing foundation or structure is suitable without review.
