Plan a complete grain facility

Start with harvest demand, the site and the next phase of your farm.

Start with how you operate

Write down acres by crop, expected yield, the share stored on the farm, harvest days and daily receiving hours. Record combine output and truck arrival patterns separately. A daily average does not capture an intense afternoon of receiving.

Follow every grain movement

Describe receiving, wet holding, drying, transfer, dry storage, reclaim and loadout. Review each connection with the equipment it serves. A large bin alone does not increase the throughput of a small receiving or drying system.

Bring the site into the discussion

Collect an aerial, existing equipment models, utility information, site access, drainage concerns and available foundation records. Keep future expansion space and construction access in the conversation from the beginning.
